Argjar Kirkja (Argjars Church) is a competition entry developed with Ruth Róin from deRóin Studio.
Located south of Tórshavn (capital of the Faroes Islands) the church occupies the landscape respectfully in shape and material while enabling life and activity to develop around itself. It mimics the terrain in its edgy expression while bringing the landscape into the ship with its large window panes. The coherence between inside and outside is strengthened through transparency.
With a multi-functional, creative and flexible layout, it offers the possibilities for a stay of a relaxed, reflective and ritual character.
